GLP-1 dose schedules: weekly shots, daily tablets and dose steps
Which GLP-1 medications are weekly, which are daily, and how dose steps usually work, with the doses you can log for each one in Steady.
By the Steady team ·
GLP-1 medications come as weekly injections, daily injections and daily tablets. Most of them start low and step up over weeks, a process called titration, so the body can get used to the medication before the next increase.
Weekly, daily, tablet
| Schedule | Medications |
|---|---|
| Weekly injection | Ozempic, Wegovy (semaglutide); Mounjaro, Zepbound (tirzepatide); Trulicity (dulaglutide) |
| Daily injection | Saxenda, Victoza (liraglutide) |
| Daily tablet | Rybelsus, Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide) |
How dose steps usually work
For the weekly medications, the labels describe a starting dose that is not meant to be the long-term one, followed by increases about every 4 weeks until the dose your prescriber chooses. The exact steps and their timing are set by your prescriber; some people stay on a lower step longer, which is normal.
Steady records the dose you are on and when you stepped up. It never tells you to increase or change your dose.
