How much water should you drink on a GLP-1?

Eating less means less water from food, and the labels warn about dehydration. Enter your weight for a daily target in liters, ounces and glasses.

For education and arithmetic only. Not medical advice, and not a dosing, mixing or treatment recommendation. Confirm your medication, dose and measurements with your prescriber or pharmacist.

Questions

Do coffee and tea count?

Most drinks count toward your fluids. Your doctor may give you a different target if you have heart or kidney disease.

Why does hydration matter on a GLP-1?

You get less water from food when you eat less, and vomiting or diarrhea can dehydrate you. The labels warn that dehydration can affect the kidneys.

How many glasses is my target?

The calculator counts 250 ml glasses. 2 liters is 8 glasses.

How do I know if I am drinking enough?

Pale yellow urine and not feeling thirsty are common signs. Ask your doctor if you are unsure.

Can I drink too much water?

Yes, though it is rare in healthy adults. If you have a fluid limit for heart or kidney reasons, follow it.
